Maintenance Vehicles for Tram Lines

The tramway company has a very powerful blue tractor. It is used, among other things, to clear snow in winter. The snow plough can be set in widths so that it does not hit the platform at the stops. The tractor is also used to move the trams around at the shed.

If too much snow needs to be moved, a front loader bucket can be mounted. Sometimes it is also necessary to have a backhoe, which is then mounted on the back of the tractor instead of the transport box.

The second vehicle is mostly for the maintenance of the track and overhead wires. The vehicle is a so-called road-rail vehicle, which can drive both on ordinary roads, but also on railway tracks. Here a snow plough can also be put on, and it also has variable widths.

The scissor lift is fully functional and can be moved up and down using a crank. To prevent the vehicle from tipping over when the lift has been raised, there are two movable arms, each with its own hydraulic jacks.

Should there be an accident with one of the trams, the truck can pull the tram back to the depot and maintenance centre, as it also has a coupling to trams.

The tramway has a low freight car for transporting materials for maintenance. It is also sometimes used for transporting the tractor.
