Samus Aran’s famous and feared ship, simply known as “the Gunship” is known far and wide around the galaxy to be the home for the most feared and skilled bounty hunter in the universe. This version of the ship is based off of Metroid Prime, a critically acclaimed masterpiece. This set includes minifigures of Samus both in her powersuit and her Zero Suit. It also includes her arch-nemesis, maniacal leader of the space pirates, Ridley, and the namesake of the game, a metroid. This set includes features such as the ship’s iconic elevator allowing Samus to rise up like she does in the beginning of the game, and a ridley that can pick up and throw Samus like he can do in the games. Metroid is one of the most consistent and acclaimed series in all of gaming. Games such as Super Metroid, the Prime trilogy, and most recently Metroid Dread have each been hailed as masterpieces in both the 2d and 3d planes of gaming, and also helped an entire genre flourish, inspiring other masterpieces such as Hollow Knight. This should be a set for a few major reasons. One: Metroid is an incredibly iconic series, and one of very few major gaming IPs with a female lead. In fact, Samus is gaming’s first and most iconic female protagonist. Two: Metroid is experiencing a surge of popularity in the last few years, with 2023’s Metroid Dread and June’s reveal of Metroid Prime 4, the hype around the series is at an all-time high. And three, the gunship itself is really cool and would be a great build for display and play.
