Knights of the Yellow Castle: Forest Outpost

Based on the first LEGO castle ever produced, as well as the relatively recent Series 23 “Knight of the Yellow Castle” Collectible Minifigure, this Forest Outpost sure is a sight to behold.

Serving as a stronghold for the Knights of the Yellow Castle stationed deep within the realm of the foresters, the castle’s bright yellow walls and rich magenta roofs mean that is very easily spotted by those who know where to look for it. Each of the battlements atop the outpost have room for a minifigure to stand on the lookout for approaching forestmen, and the grand main entrance is high enough to fit even the most luscious of feather plumes. The roof section itself can be detached to reveal a simple yet playful set of modular interior decorations. These allow for the outpost to be staged however you’d like, with a small yellow throne, dining table with large pie, and weapons/cookie barrel included. Around the back, a small door hinges open to reveal a secondary entrance into the outpost.

A series of unique building techniques are utilized in order to achieve such features as the sideways-mounted windows, wall-integrated shield, and assymetrical roofs. My personal favorite is the sideways-building technique used to create the natural-looking landscape border. All of these techniques are ones I believe to be essential to my own style of building, and one of the main reasons I would like to see this turned into a set would be to showcase these techniques in a way that makes them accessible to everyone easily.

Will the Forestmen succeed in their plans to infiltrate the outpost and inform their allies of its location? Will the brave Knights of the Yellow Castle conquer the forest and rule over the land? The story is yours to write! Please support if you are also interested in bringing this slice of LEGO Castle history to store shelves!
