Why I Built This Set?
The Pulsar Patroller reimagines the iconic 1990s "brick & exposed-stud" style of Space Police II sets in a sleek, modern "tile & greeble" aesthetic popular with today’s builders. Inspired by classics like the #6781 SP-Striker (SPI) and #6897 Rebel Hunter (SPII), it retains their signature colors, logos, and modular features for both display-ability and playability in mind.
This model integrates hallmark Space Police elements like "Futron" technology, a prisoner pod, and hidden details such as articulating wings and an experimental engine fused with a command seat. It’s as if Futronians combined the best tech from Space Police I, II, and beyond to safeguard the United Galaxies. After nearly 30 years without a Space Police II set, this update brings the theme back in style!
Why this would make a great set?
This set marks 30 Years of Captain Magenta, the first-ever minifigure with a printed headset, hair, and eyebrows. Celebrating the legacy of Space Police leaders, it features Captain Magenta, Officer Mauve, her Secure-o-bot, and a captured Blacktron prisoner, forming a mission-ready team.
This set appeals to the core group of LEGO Space fans who grew up with Space Police in the 90's and are now sharing its iconic underrate theme with a new generation.
The design pays homage to the classic theme while adding a modern touch, updating Space Police II’s iconic palette—translucent green, black, gray, and red—with sand blue accents as a nod to Space Police I’s worn look. Staying true to the theme, it retains modularity and hidden features while embracing a sleek, detailed building style. Perfect for nostalgic fans and new builders alike!
Design "Story" in my head...
In response to rising threats from Blacktron and Spyrius factions, Futron pioneers developed the Pulsar Patroller, powered by the energy of a pulsar star. Fast, agile, and cutting-edge, this vessel is entrusted to Captain Magenta, a veteran of three decades.
