Cockpit Flower alternate colors to celebrate 1,000!

To say thank you for your 1,000+ votes of support on my Winter Ice Flowers project, I wanted to share some of the alternate color builds I tried for the large peony-type statement flower I built from cockpits.

Here’s the original version #1, with transparent light blue cockpits and transparent dark blue and orange flames.
Here’s an alternate recolor, version #2, with transparent red and light blue cockpits and transparent purple and orange flames. It’s far more eye-catching than the blue, and I love how the colors bring out the dimensionality of the design more.
Here’s version #3 with transparent pink and light blue cockpits and purple and orange flames. This has less contrast than the red and blue one, but I love how the pink and blue differ but are matched in saturation.
And here they are with the other winter ice flowers.

Although I actually think these versions are more visually interesting, I went with version #1 in the end. That's mostly because I wanted the colors of the overall arrangement to be more balanced, and I had limited palette options for each flower type. I also thought that having more transparent light blue added to the icy, wintery feel.

But if I had all the pieces available in all of the possible transparent colors, I might choose differently! Maybe I'll try building my ideal combination in Stud.io to celebrate 5,000. Please share this project so we can achieve that!

I'm curious: which version would you choose?

Wow, 500+! Recolored flowers in purple to celebrate!

I'm so happy you're enjoying my Idea! To celebrate 500+ votes of support, I rebuilt one of the flower types in a different color. (Recoloring the flowers in LEGO's Botanicals collection is always so fun!)

Here's what the umbrella flowers look like rebuilt in transparent purple and bright green!
I really love this color combination. I considered including one purple and one pink umbrella flower stem. But in the end I went with the pink and green umbrellas for the actual build, since I wanted a wide range of colors overall, and I already had other purple flowers. Figuring out which flowers I could build in what available piece colors was quite a logic puzzle!

Here, I rebuilt the purple version with a more upright stem also, though I like the way the drooping pink flower stem fills the space with the other flowers in the original display. I used the same stem pieces for both, so a builder could choose whichever they preferred. And I remixed the plate and cone pieces for the buds, too.

Here are the pink umbrella flower stems by themselves, for reference.
I hope you enjoy seeing these recolored flowers! I'd love to hear which color combination is your favorite -- let me know in the comments! Thank you again for your support!

Thank you for 100+ support votes!

Thank you all for your support! To celebrate, here’s an example of how I’ve been using the Winter Ice Flowers snowy base as a minifig display diorama with other minifigures and accessories. I call this one Extreme Rabbit Scientist. (Surely the rabbits will treat him as just another bunny?)

Note: this is a bonus display example of how builders could modify the idea to show off their own collections, not a change to the original build.
(Although this former police officer may be a permanent rabbit impersonator now, unless I can get his head out of that rabbit hat…)
