The Idea:

I wanted to build:

-       New flowers for a winter bouquet or floral arrangement!

-       Simple vases with “flower frogs” to help position stems (but these are actually built with frogs!)

-       A very stable base that can be displayed against a wall or as a centerpiece

-       That doubles as a playable winter landscape scene / minifigure display!

See it in action!

The Build:

Piece count: approximately 1230 pieces (767 for flowers, 165 for vases, ~300 for base/minifigs/accessories)

Dimensions – wall display version: approximately 16” long by 7” deep by 16” high (including flowers)

Dimensions – centerpiece version: approximately 12” long by 12” deep by 16” high (including flowers)

-       Transparent petals and white stems give ten flower and leaf stems a frozen, ice-covered look that’s almost like glass
-       Three simple but striking transparent vases in different sizes have frog “pins” to make flower arranging easier
-       The hinged snow-covered base unfolds to reposition vases and show secret hidden spaces
-       Two City-style minifigures and assorted accessories are included to inspire winter minifig-scale scenes

I built this with actual bricks from our brick collection, so there are no recolors or stickers, and some choices (such as the minifigures and accessories) reflect the pieces I had available. I’d love to see what the designers could come up with, but these were fun for a start!

Build It Together:

I love that different people could enjoy building a beautiful flower arrangement, or constructing a winter landscape, or hiding rabbits in a snowy burrow, or peeking at a mysterious hatching egg beneath a spiderweb – all while working on the same set! Building together is so much fun, and if this became a set, you and your family or friends could create a special display for any winter celebration that everyone could feel proud of.

Mix It Up:

-       Flower stem length can be changed and flowers can be removed from vases and combined in any arrangement you dream up
-       Vases can be easily removed from the base without rebuilding and displayed alone (due to jumper connections and tiles)
-       Included minifigures and accessories can be positioned on the landscape base’s jumpers to create scenes, from winter’s spooky beginnings to the first hints of spring

Make It Your Own:

This snowy landscape base could display your own minifigures and accessories for any winter scene – so if it becomes a reality, maybe you will use it to build your own unique dioramas!
