Original Prototype

So before I decided to post my idea, I had the original spark. I ordered parts from the Pick-a-Brick site after my first design, and they finally arrived (about a month later)! These pictures are NOT of my posted design - just the start of it all.

You will probably notice that the bricks are just stacked. (As in a 2x8 on top of a 2x8 on top of a 2x8, etc.) This was not really designed with modern techniques in mind. In fact, while building it I had to deviate a little and actually rotate some of the pieces 90 degrees so they would lock together a bit better. (Four 2x8s, rotate, four 2x8s 90 degrees perpendicular.) I also, apparently, forgot to order the yellow 1x4 plates. Oops.

Color Tweak

I wasn't sure about THAT much black for the railings and trim. I added a littler more white. Specifically to the rails and a stripe on each tier. I also experimented with the classic red/yellow/blue/green scheme.  Any thoughts?

Stage Lights!

v1.1

I decided that the stage wasn't complete without some lighting. Stage spotlights have been added to the front. Along with the lights I have added an elegant facade, and closed off the back of the tiers. (Previously you could see through the under-side of each tier like a high school gymnasium. I figured if I were going for an award ceremony setting the stage should look high-budget.)

I also decided that it would be nice if this set included a bonus minifig. No awards production would be a success without a worker. There needs to be someone with a flashlight and tools. A screwdriver, hammer, broom and flashlight are now included in the storage rooms, as is a maintenance worker with walkie talkie. I have a couple other ideas floating around in my head, so maybe there will be other updates down the road.

*Just to clarify: The ONLY Minifigure actually included in this set would be the maintenance worker. The 16 shown in the picture are just for visual purposes. I intended for fans to put their own collection on the stage.
