“Ace Ventura: Pet Detective” is a 1994 comedy directed by Tom Shadyac and starring Jim Carrey, who plays a somewhat eccentric pet detective who loves animals and has a great knowledge of them.
The success of the film inspired two sequels, Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls, Ace Ventura Jr., and a cartoon series published by CBS, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.
With an important cast such as Mark Margolis, Udo Kier, Sean Young or Courtney Cox among others, and appearances by Dan Marino (former Dolphins player) or rapper Tone Loc.
The Model:
Without giving away spoilers, this project focuses more on the day to day life of Ace Ventura, his apartment and the conflicts with his landlord Mr. Shikadance (Mark Magolis).
The diorama contains Ace's apartment with many of the elements from the film (also a section of Mr. Shikadance's apartment), as well as the animals he lives with. Up to 14 different animals!
“SPOILER! …There is always a mission that Detective Ventura and his friend the monkey Spike (both in the animated series and in the movie) miss and that is included in this diorama. An Albino pigeon for which a good reward is offered.”
On one side of the model I have added a secret door that leads to the fireplace, through here Ace enters and leaves with his pets to avoid being seen by Shikadance who is forbidden to have animals in the apartment.
Ace does not know how to move without his car, although it is a mess it still works, as he says: “It is still alive!!”.
Due to the number of faces that Actor Jim Carrey can make, I suggest at least one more dual head for the minifigure.
A model with 1700 pieces that when you see it will remind you of moments from the movie and will surely make you laugh.
