A giant of the deep surfacing for the first time in minifig scale.
I was inspired to build this after my son built the Lego Ideas Dinosaur Fossils kit. What is almost always on display in the Natural History Museum with fossils? A Blue Whale. I wanted to make the whale minifig scale (height and width) and also have some playability built in. The skeleton is a fairly straightforward technic build and then the SNOT effect was added with large plates. The hardest part was the opening jaw, as I wanted the shape and curvature.
There are a few things I would continue to develop. Firstly, I need more pieces in dark blue to continue to blend the blue and the gray. I would also continue to work on the jaw and as something fun, add 'barnacles' using one dots
