Stephenson's Rocket (1829) marked the beginning of the railways as we know them, and is one of the most famous locomotives in the world. My version is based on a replica held at the National Railway Museum in York, familiar to many by its striking yellow paintwork. Having built two versions for other exhibitions, I think one at this scale would make a great set that would appeal to a wide range of LEGO fans and rail enthusiasts all over the world. I also live just a few miles from Newcastle upon Tyne where Stephenson was based and had his workshop, so feel a particular connection to this important piece of history.
The model contains 1300 parts and the base measures approx 60cm long.
