"We interrupt this program to bring you... the Courage the Cowardly Dog show, starring Courage the Cowardly Dog! Abandoned as a pup, he was found by Muriel, who lives with her husband, Eustace Bagge! But creepy stuff happens in Nowhere. It's up to Courage to save his new home!"
Courage the Cowardly Dog has been a huge fan-favorite Cartoon Network original series since its premiere on November 12, 1999. And since then, the show has gathered a massive fanbase.
About the Bagge Farmhouse
Return to Nowhere, Kansas with this highly detailed and very show-accurate model of the Bagge Farmhouse, where Courage lives with his elderly owners, Muriel and Eustace Bagge. Here, Courage and company constantly encounter weird and creepy things like ghosts, monsters, crazed villains, natural disasters and more.
My Bagge Farmhouse project uses a total of 4,979 pieces and can be opened like a book in order to see the interior of all three levels (the 1st & 2nd floors and the attic). Not to mention, there are some easter eggs from certain episodes included!
Why I Built the Bagge Farmhouse
As a huge fan of Courage the Cowardly Dog, I decided to challenge myself by building something I'm passionate about. Originally, the Bagge Farmhouse was not intended for LEGO Ideas due to the LEGO Ideas platform disallowing Courage the Cowardly Dog projects at the time I first became inspired to build it. Luckily, however, that all changed thanks to the platform's most recent update! As a result, I decided to add six characters to my product idea.
- Courage
- Muriel Bagge
- Eustace Bagge
- Katz
- Le Quack
- Freaky Fred, Muriel's naughty nephew who happens to be a barber
It took me a very long time (about 4 or 5 years) to build this model since I had to overcome many hurdles in designing it. Plus, I even threw in Eustace's iconic Ooga-Booga-Booga mask with brick-built faux arms!
Why Would This Model Make a Great LEGO Set?
Courage the Cowardly Dog has been spawning lots of merchandise nowadays (as well as a crossover movie with Scooby-Doo in 2021), and I believe LEGO should join in! Not to mention, LEGO and Cartoon Network have had a history together!
In addition, this model would be great for recreating moments from the show using the characters and easter eggs such as:
- King Ramses' slab from "King Ramses' Curse"
- The invisibility gemstone from "Invisible Muriel"
- The Rorschach card from "McPhearson Phantom"
- Courage's computer in the attic saying his iconic catchphrase
- The Nowhere Newsman on the TV in the living room
Notes
- Eustace's short sleeves are actually printed in BrickLink Part Designer to make them look as if they're dual-molded long minifigure arms, which currently don't exist.
- I was also going to add the Chicken from Outer Space's eggs, but I couldn't figure out a way to decorate the egg part with red polka dots in Part Designer.
- I was unable to include the basement, the windmill, and Eustace's truck due to my product idea's very high part count.
