A BIG update!
I want to thank everyone who has voted over the last month for LEGO Reading Rainbow! I’m so excited to share this update! I’ve been busy working to fix some stability issues and clutter that I feel will improve the LEGO Reading Rainbow design and reflect the elements from the original theme song I want to pay tribute to!
See below for the updated concept images and the end of this post for the complete list of changes!
Please let me know what you think of the update! And please share the campaign with other fans and encourage them to vote if you really enjoy the idea!
- Adjusted the sky background to be more blue
- Fixed a stability issue where the dragon couldn’t keep its pose because of ball socket connections. The new dragon design is more sturdy and poseable!
- Fixed an issue with the rainbow trail where it was barely noticeable behind the logo. I moved it up a little more make the trail more prominent.
- Fixed an issue where the spaceship cloud made reading the “Reading Rainbow” logo harder because it was cluttered. I moved the spaceship and planet into the sky and adjusted the positioning to match the theme more. I stretched the rainbow trail to keep touching the cloud like it was before.
- Adjusted the clouds by the “Reading Rainbow” letters to make the logo pop out more.
- Moved the brick built butterfly from the page because it wasn’t stable in that location and could easily fall off. I moved the butterfly into the sky in the empty area and extended the rainbow trail to more embody “Butterfly in the Sky”
- Adjusted the coloring for Levar and the Kids reading section a little
- The really cool part is all these updates reduced the model size by over 500 pieces!
