Cash Register Coin Bank
My dream GWP submission - a working cash register coin bank!
Styled like an antique cash register, this little bank is a perfect place to keep loose change. There is a coin slot above the register keys on the left, any coins dropped in fall directly into the register drawer on the bottom. To open the bank you use both hands -
Turning the crank on the right side causes a small gear to raise up a vertical plate with a 1x4 gear rack attached. This serves two purposes:
- it raises the plate above the level of the drawer to unblock it
- it lifts up a small "sale" sign (just like a real old school register)
With the drawer unblocked, you can use the handle on the left side to slide the drawer forward.
I rendered a pic with some bricks on the back "hidden" to show the mechanism inside. I also test built the mechanisms to ensure it worked well. This build uses 248 bricks and includes 3 stickers. (2x6 Cash Sales, 1x2 Sale $, 1x4 $100.00)
Number of Bricks
248
