"'Cause when we use our minds, and take a step at a time, we can do anything that we wanna do!" - Steve
It's Steve's storybook house from the ever so nostalgic Nickelodeon children's show Blue's Clues built in bricks! I have always claimed Blue's Clues to be my favorite show from early childhood, as it gave me so many wonderful, happy memories to think back on, and its unique, distinct visual style and method of teaching is to this day possibly the highest in its class. So many people out there still have crazy nostalgia for Steve, Blue, and all of their friends, so I think bringing them into the LEGO world is perfect!
This idea is based primarily on the first ever episode of the show, Snack Time, and the three pawprint clues are already placed around the set! Blue wants something with her snack, what could it be? The first two clues may be easy to spot, but you may need to Blue Skidoo to find the third one!
The set is primarily made up of the classic red and yellow storybook house, packed with details representing the three main rooms inside, which include...
- The Living Room, lined with the classic squiggly-line walls, featuring a connection point for Sidetable Drawer to stand with Steve's telephone atop her head, the ever-changing picture frame for Steve and Blue to skidoo into, and the one-and-only Thinking Chair, topped with a representation of Steve pondering the three clues.
- The Bedroom, featuring Steve's desk and lamp, his purple bed, and his bedside cupboard for Tickety Tock to stand on when it's time to start the day!
- The Kitchen, showcasing the massive refrigerator covered in magnets and drawings, the utensil rack, and the kitchen counter, helmed by Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper!
The Living Room section can be slid into the house facing the door for accuracy, or connected facing the back for ease of play. The windows have removable lavender inserts, and the roof of the house can also be taken off for better access to the Bedroom and Kitchen! The storybook house alone measures around 7.5 inches in length and height, and the whole set is made up of 1072 pieces!
Also featured in the set is the Apple Tree with the tire swing, Blue's snack table with the rectangular graham crackers, square cheese, round orange, and triangular grapes, and of course, Blue's rubber ball.
The set has 10 characters, including Steve with his Handy Dandy Notebook and green crayon, Blue, Mailbox with a letter for Steve and Blue, Mr. Salt, Mrs. Pepper, Sidetable Drawer, Shovel, Pail, Tickety Tock, and Slippery Soap! See if you can also spot the hidden snail!
