Yin And Yang In A Zen Garden

Thanks to all for the 1000 supporters reached. And to thank you, I will speak on the number 7

7 is a prime number, not represented in the initial design of this zen garden.

7 is the missing number between 5 and 11 (= 1 + 2 + 3 + 5), and thus can be considered as a separator, or a transition.

In many cultures, we can find the 7 represented:

• 7 lucky gods
• 7 wonders
• 7 musical notes (do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, si)
• 7 dragon balls (manga created by Akira Toriyama)

I decided to put the dragon balls in the garden, because they have less meaning (so you can consider each of them as a representation of a lucky god or a musical note). Moreover, they can easily add more decoration and seek for the visitor. You can (more or less) hide them where you want.

In the following example, you can (more or less) see 5 of them. The 2 last are difficult to see or completely hidden. As in the manga, the dragon balls are not so easy to find...

As proposed, I created a new version of the wood island.

The changes are:

• the tree is more like a bonzai.
• there are more flowers on the ground.
