Mysterious Swamp
Hello everybody! I’m glad to submit this new project featuring a mysterious swamp.
I have spent a lot of enjoyable hours creating this project with Bricklink’s Studio, and several more rendering the different views and working with the details. I was eager to build this project because I love this kind of natural environments, which are characterized for being so wild, leafy, and a bit disturbing. But I wanted to make it yet more enigmatic and disquieting, so I added some different elements and characters to create such mysterious atmosphere.
I believe this model would make a great LEGO set for many reasons. To begin with, I think that swampy environments fascinate to many people. These places have a great diversity of animals, plants, and trees. Usually, their living conditions are not easy, and the inhabitants of these areas must make good use of the few resources available. So, there is always a story behind anybody living in a place like this, and once you are playing with the set, it is up to you to create such story. Besides, this model is further combined with a mysterious atmosphere. Thus, players must increase their imagination so that everything fits. Also, building a swamp is very funny. Vegetation, land, and water can be combined in unlimited different manners, there are many wild animals, and some parts of the set are modular, so playability is further increased.
The main features are set forth below.
Main features
The model comprises the following parts: swampy waters, dense vegetation, island’s hut, and stone monument. It further comprises two minifigures, a ghost horse, several wild animals, and a boat. It has about 3.000 pieces.
Swampy waters
The swampy waters are the building base of the project. The water is green colour due to its stagnant character and the great diversity of plants living on it. The swampy waters are the perfect habitat for many creatures, as alligators, frogs, and snakes. A strange man is approaching the hut, riding a ghost horse. It is believed that the man is the guardian of the swamp, wandering for years to provide help and shelter to those one who dare to live in this place.
Dense vegetation
There are several plants and trees invading the area, with the help of waterlilies. The trees are weeping willows that grow in the swampy waters and feed from them. Their leaves providing shelter and safety to many hidden bats.
Island’s hut
The hut is located in the highest point of the swamp, in the middle of a small island. The hut has two differentiated parts; a wooden cabin and a chimney, both resting on stone foundations. The wooden cabin has a ground floor and a modular shed roof. The shed roof is detachable. In the interior there is a bed made of wooden logs and a sheet of leaves, and many other objects necessary for living in a place like this, such as a bucket, bottles, working tools, etc. The cabin is no free of creatures, such as spiders and ants. A fireplace next to the bed connects the interior of the hut with the chimney. The chimney is made of stones, masonry, and clay. The chimney is always lit to keep the insects away and to warm the interior of the cabin. In front of the hut there is a small dock with a boat. The safest way to leave the area.
Stone monument
The stone monument is located in a yet smaller island close to the hut, partly surrounded by a large split trunk. The monument connects with the hut’s land trough a stone’s path. Nobody knows the origin of the monument. It is believed to have been built by the inhabitants of the swamp many centuries ago, in memory of a knight who dedicated its life to protect these people. The monument pours a strange fluid each time the guardian approaches the area. Perhaps, the ghost horse was once the mounting of the knight, and the fluid could be calling to it. An owl is always observing from over the monument.
