The Post Office Inside a Letter Box

Hi everyone, my name is Luca, I’m Italian and I’ve always been passionate about the Lego world. Today I will accompany you to discover “The post office inside a letter box”. I will explain where the idea came from and we will see many of its details together. Are you ready? Let's go!

The idea came up one evening when I was returning home from work. I’m a very curious person who pays a lot of attention to details, and looking at the various houses I noticed that there were many types of letter boxes! One above all caught my attention that evening, it was completely RED, i couldn’t help but notice it! and for a few days this letter box remained in my head. I wanted to create something that not only faithfully recreated that object, but which could contain a story within it, a glimpse of daily life that we are all accustomed to. It also transmits the message that behind everything that we give for granted there is a little world made by people that work for giving the best experience possible. And this is how the idea of “The post office inside a letter box” was born.

The construction was created with the use of the Stud.io program and Part Designer for the creation of tiles and other pieces with customized graphics. I’ve always been a graphics enthusiast and a decent designer. I really like this process which also gives a lot of space to the imagination.

The letter box is reproduced very faithfully to reality. In the front part we find a door that can be opened using a key that unlocks a simple mechanism. There is also a space where you can enter your name, while in the upper part there is a slot where letters can be inserted. By opening the door we find the heart of the building, the post office. On the ground floor on the right side we have two offices where people can go to send or collect parcels and boxes. On the left side we find a convenient box where the postman from outside inserts the mail which some employee will then collect. We also find a convenient scale to check the correct weight of the packages to be sent. On the upper floor there are two private offices intended for employees only, while on the left we find the director in his office, committed to make sure that everything goes well.

For the design of the building I was inspired by the countless letter box present in all our homes.

The set has base of 34 x24 studs, it is made up of 1572 pieces, there are 6 minifigures

It is very rich in details and you can always discover new things by looking at it up close. It is an iconic piece that can be displayed at home as a decoration element, as well as suitable for children due to its easy playability.
