Countdown to Christmas with this super-festive advent calendar house!
The house has 24 compartments to fill with small gifts- sweets, minifigs, or perhaps the parts for a daily mini-build? A surprise for each day of of the advent countdown!
The compartments open in many different ways, each revealing a fancy gold-decorated space in which to place your special gift. You could put all the numbers in order, or mix them up. The whole house revolves on a candy-cane striped turntable to make finding your next surprise easy. As a special surprise, the last compartment is hidden in the snow-topped chimney!
I got the initial inspiration for the house design from looking at traditional Scandinavian woodland houses, with their red walls and tall pitched roofs, nestled in snowy woodland. The red and white decorations were influenced by cosy nordic winter knits. The house is embellished with pearl gold details for a bit of festive sparkle, and adorned with curling evergreen plants. Above the front door is the perfect finishing touch of a welcoming Christmas wreath.
This would make an amazing addition to anyone's yuletide decorations, why not start a new family tradition to build and fill your own advent house with special treats every year?
