This is a set based on the famous Bridge of Khazad-dûm scene from The first book of The Lord of the Rings, The Fellowship of the Ring. While the Fellowship try to escape the Mines of Moria, they accidentally provoke a Balrog of Morgoth, that was lurking in the depths of the mine. While the other members of the Fellowship escape across the bridge of Khazad-dûm, Gandalf confronts the huge fire demon.
I decided to build this set because it is my favourite scene from both the book and the film and I really wanted to see it as a set in real life and let others experience this battle in bricks.
This set includes 3 minifigures: Gandalf the Grey, Frodo and Legolas. It also includes a full scale model of the Balrog which has 12 total posable joints. There are two sides of the bridge One of which has a small cave dwelling under it. Also the bridge is designed so that you can choose to make it collapse when the Balrog steps on it, just as it does in the actual scene.
I, and many others, really want this set to be made as it is a battle against a powerful foe that many feared, even if it was on screen or on a page. So you can decide if the Balrog wins or if it cannot pass!
