The Magic School Bus

Please let this be a normal field trip. With the Friz, NO WAY!!.

Hello everyone and welcome aboard The Magic School Bus. This set is based on the popular '90's TV show of the same name by Scholastics Inc. This is a resubmission of my first Lego Ideas set and I feel that this a great way to help revive this timeless show and something that deserves to be a LEGO set. For me (and I'm sure many others) some of the best days of grade school were when the teacher would pull out the TV and put in the Magic School Bus to whatever episode was relavent to what we were learning at the time.
I built the Bus with the idea in mind to have easily detachable and interchangeable parts so that "transforming" or rebuilding the bus between different builds would be easy and simple. In the pictures I demonstrate which pieces come off for each build.

The set comes with enough pieces to rebuild into four different transformations that were seen in the TV show. But if anyone put their mind to it I'm sure you could build more with pieces you may have just lying around.

The available builds featured in this set are:

  • the Un-Recycler (seen in the Holiday Special)
  • the Rocket Ship (seen in the opening title and Gets Lost in Space
  • the Submarine (seen in the opening title and Gets Eaten)
  • the Spider mode (seen in Spins a Web)

Included with this set are:

  • Ms. Frizzle
  • Arnold
  • Phoebe
  • Tim
  • Carlos
  • Ralphie
  • Dorothy Ann
  • Keesha
  • Wanda
  • Liz

 and some bonuses:

  • a miniature "shrunken" school bus
  • Ms. Frizzle's Porta-shrinker, and Mega-magnifier
  • Dorothy-Ann's book bag and a book

The Bus itself is made with 508 bricks, while the set as a whole has 1476 bricks.

With this set I hope for it to bring back sweet fond memories for adults when they were kids growing up and learning science by reading the books and watching the show. I feel that this set would do the same for todays younger generation of kids and inspire them to learn about the science of the world and the topics shown in this set, in the fun and exciting way that the Magic School Bus teaches it.

With the limitless things the Bus can turn into, I hope that kids and adults alike will be encouraged to push the boundaries of their imagination and see what else they can turn The Magic School Bus into not just with the pieces in this set, but with what other Legos they may have at their disposal. And with everything included in the set, I hope that the adventures you have are as unlimited as the creations you can make.

If you were a fan of this show growing up and would like to have this in your LEGO collection, then please click those support, follow and share buttons and tell your friends, tell your friends' friends, your grandparents or even your pet to support this set because this classic show deserves to be a LEGO set, and together we can make this a reality.

I thank you for your support and hopefully we can make it to 10,000 this time.
