The World Tree

Yggdrasil, the tree of life. With many of its tales I quickly became fascinated by the myths of it and decided to recreate it.

I got inspired by the classical depictions and took some influences from modern sources, like the Marvels Thor movies.

(I tried to stay true to the info sources I found which turned out to be very difficult as the Norsemen have had many variations on their stories)

This piece is made to be a display set, which focusses on retelling some of the beautiful tales from the mythology.

I made sure this set could be viewed from any angle without the need of moving it by making rotatable pieces, these include Asgard, the roots (with their wells) and Midgard (with its connected realms).

The creatures can also be removed and repositioned at the owners leisure.
