Antique sewing machine has artwork-like quality and craftsmanship that is truly impressive and delightful to watch.
So when I worked on this model, I wanted to capture that elegance and charm while keeping the mechanism simple and unobtrusive, and seamlessly incorporating the technic parts needed for simulating its movement.
Mechanism-wise, my main focus was to simulate that frantic movement of a needle and make the whole thing operate like a real sewing machine.
As you can see in the video, the model can be operated by either spinning the hand-wheel or the one under the table that is connected to the foot pedal mechanism.
