The Peter Witt 1500 tram has become an icon, a legendary symbol of tramways in Milan and in other cities around the world (such as San Francisco, Melbourne, and also showcased in Brussels, Madrid, Frankfurt…).
Milan immediately recognized it as a vehicle of excellence, a classic since its first introduction in 1928. Its clattering through the streets of Milan made it unique, impossible not to fall in love with. It created an era that Milanese people remember as historic and unparalleled.
Even today, in the year 2024, about 150 trams are still in operation. Despite modern advancements, local people don't give up its delightful and characteristic noise on the tracks.
The model I present and have built is in “Milano Yellow” color with interiors from the first period, 1928 to 1931, featuring the ticket inspector spot, which was later replaced by an automatic ticket machine.
