This is the K-36 Steam locomotive, which can still be seen making its way through the Rocky Mountains to this day!
I chose this as I feel there is a shortage of choice when it comes to Lego trains these days, especially of ones that will appeal to older and younger fans alike.
The model consists of;
- Only 540 pieces
- 2 mini-figure engineers
- The engine and tender carriage
Keeping price in mind, no power functions are in the set but there is plenty of space within the tender carriage to add them. My suggestion to Lego would be to include instructions on how to add power functions for those that want to.
The model is built to a 6 stud wide standard size and there is space for a mini-figure engineer to stand at the controls (even with his hat on) and so is fully compatible with existing Lego trains.
If you have any suggestions or comments I would love to hear from you, thanks for looking!
