I think the best part of Lego is that they can become almost anything. That versatility started me thinking about a build that could turn into something else without taking it apart first. After trying a few different ideas, I made the Robo Truck.
I built the base with rotation joints because they have a lot of range of motion but are still sturdy enough to hold their position. Ball joints worked well for the arms and head where stability was less of a concern. From there it was just a matter of adding details looked right in both truck and robot mode - I think using side view mirrors and lights along the top of the windshield to disguise the fingers is my favorite part.
