Kino is a movie theater.
Yes, another one.
After the Art Deco Movie Theater, I still had to build another movie theater.
Kind of art deco too...
You may ask me why?
Well... Perhaps because I wasn't entirely satisfied with the previous one, or maybe just because this one is different.
This one is inspired by a real place in Dallas, Texas.
As usual, I tried to make a playable set.
This means it has to be stable and sturdy for easy manipulation.
I created it with real bricks - cf. Updates section later - and it took me so long I really had the time to check the sturdiness.
The 30° shift between each step of the stairway, for instance, will stay perfectly regular because it is imposed by designed. You won't have to constantly adjust the stairs alignment just because you involuntarily moved one stair.
The building can be opened to allow access to the interior parts.
The protruding wall lamp (you can see it on the left of the 4th picture) and the seat next to the table help wedging the wall when the model is closed, which is necessary to easily move the set.
The entrance features a box office and a revolving door.
The theater has foldable seats (16, precisely).
There's a place where customers can have a drink.
You'll also find a projection room (fortunately).
The mosaic in the hall is composed of existing decorated tiles. You can rearrange these as you like to form another pattern.
I also added a taxi.
At first, I thought about reusing the car from my previous set, but then I decided to build a new one.
If you look closely, you might see the engine through the radiator grille.
Don't hesitate to say which car you prefer by leaving a comment.
About 2450 parts in the end.
And so, this is it.
Personally, I like it and I hope you do too.
