The vampire squid (vampyroteuthis infernalis) is a deep sea cephalapod that lives at a depth of 1,800 to 3,500 ft. This species also has the special ability to turn its self inside out by pulling the mantel over its body. I built this model as a way to make my second favorite animal (the first being red pandas) out of Legos, and I believe it would make a fantastic set because of its obscure subject. It might also make a great background for stop motion, or even as a display stand. And although the real and Lego version of the vampyroteuthis infernalis may be small, its abnormal appearance is braubdingnaggium.
