This is a moderate sized generic model of an ancient Greek trireme. Despite its modest size, it is packed with detail including:
- naval ram
- rowing ores
- tillers
- shield walls
- decorated prow
These ships are famously portrayed in classical art and mythical stories. I wanted to create a trireme model because of my love for ancient Greek mythology, especially Homer's epic poems The Iliad and The Odyssey. This set is a great display model and fills a gap in the current Lego lineup which presently only has the very large coliseum model from the classical or ancient era. I feel that this time period has the potential for many great Lego sets and has been mostly overlooked recently. This would make a great Lego set as the intricacy and history will appeal to older builders while still being simple enough for younger builders to enjoy as well. The set totals around 500 pieces.
Thanks for taking the time to look over my idea!
