LEGO TECHNIC MECHANICAL COUNTER

Have you ever travelled by plane and noticed the flight attendance using a small metal box to count up passengers? Well, here it is, but just a little bigger and, most importantly, made with LEGO!

We all love LEGO for limitless possibilities and the fun that it brings us, but personally I have always felt like there aren't many sets that can be used on a daily basis. This is why I embarked on a journey of creating something that I could play with every day. A few weeks later this counter was born. Use it to keep track of how many days you managed to survive without reaching for that delicious chocolate bar, how many hours you spent on online meetings that could have been a simple email, or maybe how many LEGO sets you finished just this week ;). Use this set as a motivator to persist and succeed with all the challenges that you undertake!

This counter features an expandable digit display, a cogwheel to increment the numbers and rubber feet, so that it won't start dancing on the table when you try to count that next pizza slice that was stolen by your partner, even though you saved it for later. Easily swap out numbers for preferred colours and fonts - don't be afraid to personalise it to your liking! (Maybe even change the name of the machine to “technical romance”? You will just have to do something with the ‘u’ :D)

Open mechanism are both mesmerising to look at, and functional as well. Stare at the flipping digits for hours, and if there ever is a need, swap any dried out rubber bands without ever having to disassemble half of the set!

This project was very challenging to design, but should be a blast to assemble! 10-sided technic polygons, gears, ratchets - it is all there. If you like a challenge, this set is definitely for you! If you want, you may even call your family for help, so that everyone can make their own segment :)

1180 pieces; easily expandable design, if 9,999 is a number a few magnitudes to small for you :D.

P.S. This is my first project, so I would love it if you shared your views about the design in the comment section. Let's improve this set together!
MANY THANKS :)))
