Sputnik 1
The Sputnik 1 was the first artificial satellite. It was launch in 1957, from the Baikonur cosmodrome in the Soviet Union. The russian word "sputnik" means "satellite".
The satellite was a sphere that carried four antennas.
I think this is a important adition to any collection of lego spacecraft, because it was the first man-made object successfully placed in orbit around the Earth.
