Baba Yaga's House

As you venture through the Black Forest for days, you finally come across a small clearing with Baba Yaga's House in the center. The rumors were true. It's too late to turn back now, so let's explore.

Baba Yaga's House is a unique construction, built erratically with lots of reworks and fixes apparent. The centerpiece is her house itself, standing on a thick tree branch. Although it has seen better days, it still contains everything an elderly witch might need, including the skull of a lost wanderer, a brand new broom to fly to the next sabbath, shelves full of potions (once she has time to prepare them at least), a live bat, and there must be a grimoire full of spells...somewhere.
One story higher, a visitor (somebody foolish enough to visit that is) can find a storage house for stuff that even Baba Yaga considers useless. You'll notice that it's empty.
The entire structure is built in and covered by a tree that is older than the witch herself if it was possible, and the house and the tree are intertwined together in space and time, becoming one chaotic living organism.
On the outside, you can see Baba Yaga's floating garden. At her age, who wants to kneel to pull weeds anyway? There are mandragoras for her (in)famous potions and carrots for a good, warm broth. Some other mysterious thingies grow there as well, but nobody remembers their names or uses anymore.
In front of the house, you'll find a big black cauldron ready for the next mysterious brew. What will you make?

As a fan of Slavic folklore, I chose to build Baba Yaga's House as my first project. In my view, this lore is generally underrepresented in contemporary fantasy culture, but it has a lot to offer. Baba Yaga is probably the most famous Slavic character, making this a natural starting point for me. I'm hoping to see more of this world made of LEGO soon, either by myself or somebody else.

The whole scene fits perfectly on a 24 x 24 baseplate and has around 550 parts, offering multiple spots to engage with in all dimensions. The floating garden and stone staircase can be achieved with transparent supports that were hidden for rendering.

Enjoy the magical journey into Baba Yaga's world!
