The Gem Cutter spends his days in a sunny clearing in the woods, crafting perfect gems. He has it all: peace, quiet, a stream to power his faceting machine and up in the nearby cave, an unendless supply of the finest transparent polycarbonate that one could wish for!
The idea started with a single crystal. The cave followed, because I needed some where for these crystals. Then I figured that it should have a foreground, which kind of got out of hand. There are lots of details which I am proud of, but the big toadstool on top of the cave is the best. Shout out to my daughter for figuring out how to make a bat hanging from the roof!
