The Idea
Are you a fan of LEGO and chess? Here you have the perfect set! The goal of this IDEAS is to enjoy the building and let you challenge your friends every time you want. I've also designed the set to be functional, in fact, the chessboard can be closed and the chess pieces can be stored inside so you can take it anywhere.
Informations
The build rapresents a real chessboard and consist of 587 pieces. The base is 25,6 cm long; 25,6 cm wide and 2,24 cm high. When closed it is 12,8 cm long; 25,6 cm wide and 4,48 cm high. Each square is 4x4, pawns have a 2x2 base, while the other pieces have a 3x3 base.
An Intresting Build
The set features some cool techniques used in different chess pieces, the one that was the hardest to design and I'm most proud of is the knight.
I've used three Technic Liftarm Thick 1x2 attached to each other per part to make the chessboard easy to be opened. For the locking system I came up with the simple hook that you can see in the second image.
The Perfect LEGO Set
Whit this IDEAS I want to remind you that LEGO sets aren't only made to be built and displayed, but also to be played with! For chess fans it will be a great set to play with friends; those who are not made for strategy games will be able to display it as an excellent ornament!
I hope you like te build :D
