Have you ever thought about the orientation of the planets when you were born? Or are you someone already obsessed with this fun and enlightening pseudo-science that strikes so many of us? Well look no further. If you have any interest in space, esoteric subjects, knowing yourself deeper, or you just enjoy astrology, this is the set made for you. You are looking at a first of its kind, The Birth Chart set. The set that is individually customizable to each person specifically!

Once built, you will have a set that is either completely unique to you or may only be similar to a handful in the world. This building process is a little bit of a technical building journey coupled with a side of deep pondering as you begin to think about your connection to the universe.

What is great about this set is with only three extra rods of the longer length and ten extra hooks this set can be customizable to anyone. That is right, with just 13 small extra pieces this set could likely be completely personalizable to everyone's Birth Chart and account for anyone that has multiple planets stacked in one area.

You probably already now what your sun sign is, the one you may associate with your horoscope or the one you identify as, but did you know you have other signs as well? Build this set and get intrigued to find out what it all means.

What Is A Birth Chart?:

A birth chart or natal chart is just a map of the position of our planets when you were born. This includes everything from Mercury to Pluto. The Sun and the Moon are in the chart as well. Some charts even go deeper and include other points of interest in the sky. Each planet and point of interest in the sky that is included in the chart has an assigned significance or meaning that changes based on which of the 12 zodiac signs it is in. For example, Mercury is the planet of communication and how information is understood, while the Moon represents your inner world and emotions. Depending on which sign each of these is in, it will tell you a different story about how a person allegedly communicates or what a person's inner emotional world may be like. Astrologers use this insight as a way to connect to how a person's psyche could be structured and what may be influencing different aspects of their life such as their relationships, their health, their career path, and more.

Astrology is a pseudo science, meaning it is not based in real fact, however, that does not mean it is without value. For one it is a fun subject that gets people connected, but even further, people tend to find deeper truth and significance in the information that they learn from the subject of astrology. Some may learn more about themselves just through contemplation of the reality of it all. This is what makes a birth chart a great tool to use, because regardless of belief, it can strengthen our connection to the universe and ourselves as we connect to what we learn from our chart.

Whether it be for fun or to find answers, some people will even seek out a knowledgable astrologer for life predictions, sort of like a crystal ball type of reading. Charts can also be tied together in a reading to see how they influence each other and what may play out between two people such as the struggles they may have together and the ways they can be successful.

If you have no idea what a chart is or what your chart looks like, there are many free websites that if you input the day you were born and the time of day, then it can draw your chart and even give you some generic insight.

The Inspiration Behind The Set:

One day I was looking at a painting on my wall I made of my birth chart, remembering how I got curious about my connection to the solar system and how it helped me learn more about myself as well as a really fun topic like astrology. It became a new subject I enjoyed and a new way to connect with others who also enjoyed the topic. I thought to myself - I need to try to make this out of bricks if I can. It was a massive challenge to create a large wheel with 12 pretty even slices that looks clean on top of it all. I knew not everyone can paint or draw though. Others may want to display their chart like me or have a similar little creative journey to potentially get to know themselves or a new subject better. I also thought it would be really neat to make a set that could be customized to anyone who bought it.

The Design And How It Works:

The set is made up of a wheel divided into 12 pie slices, which represent the 12 zodiac signs. Each pie slice has the zodiac sign displayed on the outer edge. I used a pretty diverse and weird collection of pieces to represent the 12 signs, so I hope you enjoy the design if you are familiar with them!

The pie slices are separated by long poles connected to the wheel underneath the center parabola. They are connected to a piece under each white zodiac sign rectangle as well. The two connection points are designed in a way where the pole can actually be movable and orient into the best position to evenly split the slice. Within each slice you can see there are two smaller poles. Together the long and small poles create a series of intervals between them, which each represent 10 degrees of the 360 degree chart.

The colored disks I chose to represent the planets are connected to hooks, allowing each one to clip on to the poles. Two hooks can also be used to connect a planet off center from the pole and fill the appropriate place in your chart. To better represent the planets visually, I am suggesting there be a sticker of the planet symbol to be placed on the colored disk as I have pictured.

I also am suggesting there be a sticker that is one full ring that be placed around the outer edge of the parabola at the center of the wheel. This sticker ring would have the markers for the 12 houses, which are the roman numeral markers you see around the center. Number 1 and 10 are represented by crossing lines (the poles that look like clock hands). These two poles are rotatable to match the correct orientation for your chart. They represent the ascendent line (horizon line when you were born) and the midheaven line.

The wheel itself is attached to the black base with a very strong technic connection to keep the wheel upright, which goes from the center of the wheel through the back of the base into a few gears. It is built to be a fully rotatable wheel for the correct orientation, but also it is designed to sit sturdy. It will not rotate without physically turning the wheel and gears in the back.

Closing Statement:

Whether you are just a little interested in building what you see or a total nerd about astrology, I hope you can recognize the uniqueness of this build and want to help make it a real purchasable set. It will be a fun build with good technicality for those that enjoy those ~aspects~ (pun intended). However, I hope all builders will stumble into their curiosity and take the chance to understand a little about what it means and engage with a new subject. For those of you who love astrology, you can now have the coolest set to decorate your desk, bedroom, or book shelf with so pile on the votes and share this post for more so we can make this a real thing we can all own!

Thank you all for checking this out though and I appreciate all the support. I appreciate any help with bringing a truly unique set to the world of bricks! Cheers my fellow builders.
