The Trieste

On 23 January 1960, the Trieste, a swiss designed bathyscaphe owned by the U.S Navy dived into the Mariana trench and reached the ocean floor.

Two mens were on board, Jacques Piccard (swiss) and Don Walsh (american), it took them 4 hours and 47 minutes to touch the floor at depth of approximately 10911 meters (37797 ft)

They were the first mens to accomplished that and their ship was the first one also.

A year later Yuri Gagarin is the first man in space and everyone remember his name but Jacques Piccard and Don Walsh remains mostly unknown.

So I tried to build a Trieste replica as a tribute to those mens. And I think it's really cool to have an historical piece on your shelf (and because I like boats and submarines too)

It was a bit tricky to build a set with these shape but I think it does the trick, the Trieste had different colors paterns over it's life but this is my favorite one.

I think with all the space related sets released, a set about ocean exploration will be an original change.

I really hope that you will support the project.

Thank you
