This is a simple space exploration craft. It's designed after NASA's Orion module. It can fit two minifigures in the command module, and the command module can seperate from the propulsion module for reentry. The propulsion module has black pieces imitating a heat shield so the propulsion module can also return to the planet's surface.
Inspiration for this LEGO mainly comes from the fact that we have entered the Second Space Race. This style of spacecraft is going to be the primary form of short range space transport and exploration, aside from SpaceX's Interplanetary Transport System(Big Falcon Rocket). I found it fun to design and build because it's simple leaving plenty of room for imagination. The propulsion module is based off of the Saturn V's first stage booster segment because it's an effective design, and it looks great.
