Chicken Mech

What is it?
It's a bird! It's a plane! It's neither and it's both - it's a chicken mech!

Why did you build it?
This MOC was being built for the Mashup Madness challenge. At first I was going to build a robotic dragon, but it wasn't quite coming together, so I decided to make something goofier and more original instead - hence the chicken mech!
A bit of the initial dragon idea lives on in how the legs are structured (mainly the teardrop-shaped thighs), though the design has gone through a major overhaul on the way to the finished model.
Halfway through the building process I thought it'd be cool to include some play features, like a simple transformation or foldable weapons, so I did that as well.
The legs have an extra support beam assembly for additional stability. The support assembly can be easily removed or re-anchored to an alternative attachment point on the leg.

Why do you believe this would make a great LEGO set?
The chicken mech straddles the line between cool and silly with its mechanical and futuristic, but still very much chicken-shaped appearance. Besides making for a fun display piece, it also packs several play features:

- A cockpit with a pilot inside - he ain't no chicken!
The chest of the mech opens up, revealing a minifigure piloting it.
- Transformation to flight mode - who said chickens don't fly?
The mech can convert from walk mode to flight mode by spreading its wings, folding legs and flipping around neck and tail.
- Deployable egg blasters - watch out, or you'll end up with egg on your face!
The mech is armed with flick-fire egg missiles. The 2 launchers can fold into the mech's back or deploy to the sides for battle, in either walk or flight mode.
