Newton's Cradle: The LEGO Physics Display

Although Newton's Cradle was not invented by Sir Isaac Newton but by Simon Prebble in 1967, it is named after Newton in honor of the laws of mechanics he defined. This device spectacularly demonstrates the conservation of momentum and energy.

When one ball strikes the next in line, it transfers its energy and linear momentum. The second ball then transfers its energy and linear momentum to the next one, and so on, until the last ball is propelled into the air. This process visually and comprehensibly illustrates the principles of physics in action.

The project consists of a total of 202 pieces and includes two minifigures: one of Sir Isaac Newton and one of Simon Prebble. With a very simple construction, this set is perfect for decorating your desk at home or in the office, combining science and entertainment.
