Hello! This is my newest project, Bag End from the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit. I estimate that the build contains a little over 2,000 pieces. It has 11 minifigures, and I tried to include some details from the movies.
Minifigures:
Bilbo
Gandalf
Frodo
Thorin
Fili
Kili
Balin
Dwalin
Bifer
Bofer
Bomber
There are a few rooms, including a dining room, a pantry, and a living room with a fireplace and armchair. There are many exterior details, including a garden, nature detailing, two benches, and a path leading up to the Hobbit hole. Located in the Shire, Bag End is where both the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings kick off, a signature LOTR/Hobbit location.
LEGO tackled this set in the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings line, and did quite a good job. However, the model was undersized for playability, whereas this would make a better UCS/Creator expert set, as it is much larger. The techniques are quite different as well. Here is a mix of stacking and SNOT, nearly the entirety of the actual house being built with SNOT. I used some different techniques for the windows, which took me a while, but I think it turned out pretty well. The entire build took about four days to build.
This would be a great set to use to bring back Lord of the Rings or the Hobbit. It works very well as a stand-alone set, as it is one of if not the most signature locations in Middle Earth. It would probably be priced at about 150-200 USD, depending on the variation of piece count.
I hope you like my newest project. Support to make Bag End a reality!
