Flamingo

Flamingos have always fascinated me. They are not actually pink when they are born, they are white. As they gown older and eat more of the foods that contain the colouring, they too become shades of pink. Their white pink and black beaks are used to stir up the water and mud and scoop up the algae that gives them their colouring. They can contort their necks in to all sorts of weird curves and are simply beautiful to look upon.

I have chosen to build this flamingo out of respect for their elegance and striking colouring. Out of all of the wading birds in the world, the flamingo is unusual!
