LEGO Architecture - The Barcelona Pavilion
The Barcelona Pavilion projected by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, was the German Pavilion for the 1929 International Exposition in Barcelona, Spain. It is an important and prominent building in the history of modern architecture.
I developed a design of a famous building that is perfectly convertible and realisable with Lego bricks.
First I built the object in a 3D-CAD-programme with virtual Lego bricks in order to find the ideal scale and the appropriate size. Furthermore there is a construction manual and a prepared model consisting of 1200 Lego bricks.
Der Barcelona Pavillon, entworfen von Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, war der Deutsche Pavillon bei der Weltausstellung 1929 in Barcelona, Spanien und gehört heute zu den berühmtesten Gebäude der Moderne.
Hier habe ich einen Entwurf der Architekturikone entwickelt, welche mit Legosteinen ideal umsetzbar ist und das originale Bauwerk nahezu perfekt wiederspiegelt.
Das Objekt habe ich zuerst in einem 3D-CAD-Programm mit virtuellen LEGO-Steinen gebaut, um in mehreren Varianten den idealen Maßstab und die passende Größe zu finden. Im Folgenden gibt es bereits eine Bauanleitung und das fertige Modell aus etwa 1200 LEGO-Steinen.
