Kingdom Hearts - Gummi Ship and Highwind Raft

This Lego set is based off of the massively popular video game franchise, "Kingdom Hearts," made in collaboration with Square Enix and Disney. This set features a multitude of nods to the game. It includes a total of four minifigures which consists of Sora, the main character and his iconic Keyblade, Kairi, a childhood friend of Soras on Destiny Islands, who is holding a Paopu fruit, Riku, his second childhood friend on Destiny Islands, who's holding wooden sword, and finally a heartless minifigure. This set also includes a build of the Highwind Ship (Gummi Ship) and the Highwind Raft that was built by Sora, Kairi, and Riku. The Gummi ship has a cockpit that can open up where you can place one minifigure in a chair while the Highwind Raft has some studs where you can place and pose figures.

I built this set because I have been a fan of the game series ever since I was 11. At first I read some of the books, and got instantly hooked to the series. Reading the books eventually evolved into playing the games which were a really fun time despite how old the games may be. Anyways this game is one of my favorite video game franchises of all time and even features some Final Fantasy characters like Cloud, Leon, and even Sephiroth. So because of my love for this franchise, I decided to add both the Gummi Ship and the Highwind raft because I wanted to figure out a way to implement some of these iconic characters into the set.

There are many reasons why I built this set but the main reason is that this franchise holds a very special place in my heart. More importantly, its an amazing game series that many fans would love to see be made. Not to mention that many video game Lego sets have been very popular such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Mario Bros, and even Minecraft. Regardless this set would be a great building experience, a great playset, and a great display piece.
