Armadillos are the world’s only armored mammal and have leathery shells covering most of their bodies. They have large claws for digging for insects and making burrows. Only 2 species of armadillos, the Southern three-banded armadillo and Brazilian three-banded armadillo can roll into balls.
I made this set inspired by the 3-banded armadillo and tried to closely replicate them. I used technic pieces in the body to allow the model to curl into a ball. The model also features articulated limbs, tail and head which tuck into the body. I found it a fun challenge to recreate this unique behaviour in Lego form. I believe that this set would appeal to both Lego and animal fans.
This set contains 475 pieces.
