"The noblest pleasure is the joy of understanding."
- Leonardo Da Vinci

I'm excited to submit my LEGO Ideas project inspired by one the world's most iconic drawings, the Vitruvian Man by Leonardo Da Vinci.

✍️ Perhaps most well-known for his masterpieces The Last Supper and Mona Lisa, it were Da Vinci's scientific sketches that impressively portray the encyclopedic knowledge and interests that have come to define him.

As a tribute to Da Vinci's genius, my LEGO Ideas submission is a brick build three dimensional model of the Vitruvian Man and a minifigure of Leonardo Da Vinci. Or should we say Legonardo?😉 With a meticulously combed beard and a favour for colourful clothes, historians say he must have had a striking appearance in his time.

Designing this model was a blast, I affectionately call it the Da Vinci Mech!😂 It promises to be an enjoyable yet challenging build experience with plenty of snot-techniques and intricate details.

Please consider supporting, and make sure to share with friends and family!

With this drawing Da Vinci explored the idea of proportion, inspired by the writings of the ancient Roman architect Vitruvius. His sketch depicts a man in two superimposed positions with his arms and legs apart and inscribed in both a circle and square.

Because of their symmetry, circles were seen as representations of the cosmic and the divine, and also an emblem of natural balance. The square on the other hand represented the earthly and the secular. The work is a unique synthesis of artistic and scientific ideals and became the epitome of Italian Renaissance ideas.
