WELCOME TO THE WITCH'S WINDMILL!
THE WITCH'S WINDMILL was inspired by my love of Halloween, witches and, er, windmills! I wanted to create a ramshackle feel to the building and fill it with lots of spooky secrets. When the police arrive they have clues to spot, to investigate the strange goings on at the wicked windmill. I love LEGO builds which have strong storytelling elements, so I wanted to make a build which has lots of story potential, with the cops arriving to investigate, the witch with her pretend friendly smile, cooking up something strange, the expectant cat, the demon lord tenant waiting patiently upstairs.
I've been loving the recent Halloween themed LEGO sets, and wanted to create a build which works both for display and play. I chose a color palette which is rustic and fantastical, with lots of wonky tiles and floorboards and plenty of hidden secrets. Inside, the witch has a kitchen with plenty of potions and a surprisingly modern stove. I liked the juxtaposition of an old run down windmill with fantasy elements with the more modern cops and their car. I hope the build will inspire lots of spooky storytelling!

Story:
Reports of strange sounds and smells have brought the local police to the area. The old lady looks friendly enough, but things aren't always what they seem. Investigate the area for clues, follow the trail, and find out what's really going on at the old windmill! But what's that lurking behind the windmill? And who is that in the upstairs bedroom? Look closely and maybe you'll crack the case!
