Enter the arena and lead your troops to victory!

Clash Royale is a real-time strategy game released worldwide by Supercell in 2016. Players use troops, buildings, and spells from the beloved Clash universe (known as cards) to destroy their opponents’ towers while defending their own. By winning battles, players climb up the trophy ladder and unlock new arenas. They can also join a clan to share cards and build their own community. Enjoyed by people of all ages, Clash Royale is a game that embodies fun and creativity, and would be a perfect match with LEGO bricks!

Clash Royale features fifteen uniquely themed arenas, and I decided to build the one that every player would recognize: Arena 1, Goblin Stadium. All princess and king towers are included so the game is playable in real life just like in the app. The king towers’ cannons can be rotated to mimic shooting at enemy troops, and all towers can be easily removed from the ground when they are “destroyed”.

As seen in-game, the two sides of the arena mirror each other. Considering the “Build Together” initiative launched in 2021, it is clear that The LEGO Group is interested in creating sets that can be built by multiple people at the same time. This set is perfect for a co-building experience!

Currently, Clash Royale has over 100 cards. This proposed set includes sixteen of the most popular ones— enough for a deck of eight for each player just like in-game— that are either standard minifigures or brick-built characters. They are:

  • Wizard
  • Valkyrie
  • Mega Knight
  • Barbarian Barrel
  • The Log
  • Bomber
  • Fire Spirit
  • Ice Spirit
  • Sparky
  • Battle Healer
  • Lumberjack
  • Hog Rider
  • Electro Wizard
  • Mini P.E.K.K.A.
  • Fisherman
  • Musketeer

Originally I also included one king and two princesses on each side of the arena, however it was too many minifigures for what the LEGO Ideas website allows. So in total, this set has 11 minifigures and 5 brick-built characters! To properly capture their distinct designs, I created my own decals.

Including the minifigures, this set consists of 2,880 pieces! This count can be reduced by using pieces like the 65803 16 x 16 Technic Brick for the base, which unfortunately is not available yet in Mecabricks.

-I wanted to combine one of my favorite games with a hobby I’m passionate about.

-As a 3D artist I also love the game’s stylized characters and environments, and wanted to see what they would look like translated into LEGO bricks.

-Clash Royale would be a great addition to The LEGO Group’s relatively recent journey into sets based on video game properties. It would also be the first LEGO set based on a mobile game.

-This set can be enjoyed by both kids and adults! Children will love battling their friends and recreating their favorite moments, while older fans will enjoy building and displaying a scene from one of their favorite games.

-The sixteen cards included can be strategically combined in an almost infinite number of ways, meaning while playing the only limit is your imagination!

-Clash Royale’s numbers speak for themselves:
  • Clash Royale reached $1 billion in revenue in less than a year after launch.
  • Since 2016, the game has been downloaded over 500 million times.
  • Videos released on the official Clash Royale YouTube channel receive millions or tens of millions of views.
  • Even though the game was released six years ago, millions of players are still online every day!

-Clash Royale excels at character design and its unique style is instantly recognizable, even to those who have never played the game. This is helped by the cinematic animated shorts released along with new content. Even if you are not a player, chances are you have seen a Clash Royale short or advertisement before.

-Clash Royale can appeal to LEGO Castle fans.

-As someone who plays Clash Royale, it would be a dream come true if this fan design became a reality!
