A Green Future

As many of you may know, Lego has recently met their renewable energy goal set in 2012, 3 years ahead of schedule. The Lego companies’ buildings such as stores and offices are now powered by 100% renewable energy. I feel so happy that I am purchasing products from a company that is helping the environment by reducing the amount of fossil fuels released into the atmosphere. Fossil Fuel emissions into the atmosphere are one the main contributors to climate change.

It would be amazing if in the future the whole world could go green just like Lego, and fight Climate change one brick at a time. Solar energy, wind energy or some other form of renewable energy such as hydro energy could possibly eventually power every home in the future.

My latest Lego Ideas project represents what a renewable and green future could hold. I have created a Lego scene, which shows how all homes could function from renewable energy in the future. This set features a wind turbine, which can be turned with a simple mechanism at the back, some solar panels, a house with a basic interior which includes a table and chairs, a book shelf, and a vase of flowers; the roof of the house can be lifted off quite easily because it is only held down by a few studs. Also included with this set is a pig pen, a vegetable patch, an electric powered car with a charging box, a brick built sun to power the solar panels, various trees and flowers, some fences, and finally a family of 3 minifigures. The Lego scene is built onto two baseplates.

I hope you all appreciate my build and please support it if you would like to get this set to 10,000 supporters!
