Ali Qapu Palace - Isfahan, Iran

Ali Qapu is an ornate 1500 century royal palace in the old city of Isfahan which was the center of culture in Iran. It overlooks a huge rectangular plaza with other magnificent examples of Islamic architecture. It is now a world heritage site. I built this model because of the unique use of arches and columns and huge deck built to watch ancient version of polo games played in the plaza below. The extensive use of arches blends in perfectly with the 2 level buildings which virtually surrounds the entire huge plaza.
