Canal barge: You find Canals and canal barges all over the world, but mainly in Europe.
Years ago the Canals were built to transport goods around, way before trains and trucks. Nowadays they are mainly used for pleasure boats and some people live full time in the Barges.
Today's barges are always a delight to see as they usually have bright colors and brighten up any day.
I wanted to include the canal in this build, first to help set the scene, but also to show a life along the canal, with a parent and child walking the family dog. And also showing the wildlife you can sometimes see, like a duck, frog and a horse grazing alone the bank.
I hope a lot of builders/collectors find this build appealing because it shows modern life while reminding us of a time gone by when canals were more important than roads.
