The Falcon King's Castle

A castle for the Falcon King.
Fascinated by castles from an early age on, this remains my favourite building theme. And with today's variation of bricks one can build incredible things not comparable to the restricted possibilities in my childhood. As the Lions recently got a new home by the LEGO Designer Team, it was a must for me to give one to the Falcons too.
In my mind I had a romantic castle having uneven corners located within the grapes. But to be honest, the limit of 3000 bricks is a real challenge, especially for giving it an "epic" touch.
So, have a look at the outcome, enjoy the pictures and videos and decide for yourself whether this castle is worth of the Falcons King.

And if you like to give the Falcons a new home too, don’t forget to vote for this idea.

Building in real and with Studio 2.0
I created this castle with real bricks and in parallel with the Studio 2.0 Designer. I focused on the external appearance as well as on the stability, as the castle will also be used to play with. I kept the roofs simple and avoided to spend tiles for floor patterns, however I set importance on hiding the hinge openings. Additionally, I tried to bring variations to the walls by adding bay windows, plants like the grapes and ornaments.
The castle consists of 2990 parts, including all interiors, minifigures, animals and accessories.

The minifgures and animals
A royal castle would not be complete without king, knights and soldiers. And of course you need a little more for the playful aspect. Accordingly, I also planned two bandits equipped with a hook allowing them to climb the walls to steal the treasure. Also a bear is not missing which guards the secret way into the castle through its cave.

Make a tour through the castle
Sometimes pictures cannot capture everything. Therefore I prepared two videos, one with the Studio Designer and one from the real castle.
